Every Man's Guide to Style

1. Simple styles

The difference between baggy and loose fitted clothes is that looser fitting clothes look comfortable but baggy clothes, they just look messy. As comfortable as sweatpants may be, don't give in to wearing them. Rather go for a loose fit jeans instead.

Being comfortable is all about fit, even in weekend or lazy clothing. So have your jeans tailored and get rid of clothes that you have outgrown. Worn sneakers are comfortable but when they have holes, it's time for them to retire.

2. Trendy styles

Trendy
Accessories are a must when trying to pull off a trendy look. Include hats, scarves, belts, watches, bracelets, etc.
Layering is acceptable too! Adding a jacket or waistcoat really finishes the look. A good tip that I can give you is to play around with your jeans because it's more about look than trend. Have different jean styles in your cupboard because some pieces look better with certain clothing. e.g. (bootleg, straight leg, skinny leg, etc.)
Boots will finish the look because sneakers are too casual and loafers too formal. Boots are both stylish and functional.

3. Business

Business
This is a professional look, but not formal. Just because your shirt has a collar, does not mean that it needs a tie.

Plain button down shirts are a basic necessity when styling. Sneakers draw the wrong kind of attention so on your first day in a new work environment it would be safe not to wear sneakers or denim. Dress shoes or loafers are appropriate when dressing business.

 4. Smart

Smart casual looks bring the elements of formality and casual together. With this style you can mix and match different blazers with denim.

Smart
A tie and pocket square is not necessary but if you feel like you want to, make sure that both pieces are the same colour.

Whether arriving for a lunch date or a meeting at a coffee shop. It's better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Shoes don't have to be formal though but when wearing formal material, wear a formal shoe to match. When wearing sneakers, make sure the style is not too athletic, but clean and casual.

5. Formal

Formal
Firstly, much of the style in formalwear, for men, lies within the details and accessories. Tuxedos and black suits are most common and not created equal so I recommend you to get your suit tailored so it fits your height and shape.

A solid colour suit is not a must, but it is traditional. If you are mixing colours, stick to dark colours with white pieces.

Lastly, white socks are too casual and should never be part of your formal style.

September 1st, on the 2nd

Yesterday was the first day of Spring, September 1

Hey guys!
Sorry for the late post - I know it's a day late but I thought I'd share with you what I wore on the 1st September 2016.
The below pictures of myself represent my personality and my style of dress, which is 'preppy'.

The first day of Spring season, in Cape Town, was cold and wet so initially, I thought about wearing something colourful and eye catching. But to my disregard, I ended up wearing brown and denim.

One can't go wrong when wearing brown and denim neither when wearing white or vivid white so I thought I'd add some more brown with a leather jacket. To be honest, I like denim and I think that I can rock any denim style out there!
Jacket: T-Man R899, Shoes: Markhams R699, Jeans: Markhams R499, V-neck Tee: Woolworths R120

What do you think about my outfit for September 1st?

Leave comments below and please share if you liked my post or have any suggestions.

Hi :),

My name is Wade Lawrence. I am a first-year PR student at CPUT in Cape Town, South Africa. I am twenty-one years of age.

This is me :)
I hope to do PR for a major car manufacturing company one day because German car brands (BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Opel, Porsche, Volkswagen) stand out to me and fit my personality. I would love to work for a fashion magazine as well as I am a model for Black Fridays. I am active on social media, mainly Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, where I promote events that I have a part in.

5 things I like:
- cars
- men's fashion
- beautiful homes
- beautiful interiors
- music
5 things I hate:
- unpunctuality
- racism
- dishonesty
- bad smells
- bullying

And 3 things I will not judge you for:
- Race
- Religion
- Sexuality

So that’s me in a nutshell and in the picture at the bottom of this article. I hope you that you like what you read and wouldn’t mind following me for more about what I’m all about (fashion, lavish & modern home interiors, fast cars, the good life, luxury).

Do share my blog and follow me on my Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts. I will post as often as I can.

So will you be following me?? :)
